Colleen Pageant

Each year, the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Barnstable County Division One, in conjunction with the Cape Cod St. Patrick's Parade Committee awards scholarships to local female high school seniors of Irish descent. The Colleen winner (Queen) will receive a $1,000.00 scholarship, and two runner-up court winners will receive a $500.00 scholarship each.

Criteria for Cape Cod St. Patrick’s Parade Colleen Pageant:

  1. Must be a high school senior with plans for continued education in an accredited program.
  2. Must have Irish surname and/or be no more than 5th generation Irish from one of your grandparents.
  3. Must maintain a B average.
  4. Must be available for pre-pageant interview to be determined, and the Grand Marshal’s Ball / Colleen Coronation scheduled for Friday, March 5, 2010 at 6PM at the Irish Village, West Yarmouth, MA, and the Cape Cod St. Patrick’s Parade scheduled for Saturday, March 6, 2010.
  5. Must submit completed application with one letter of reference from a high school teacher, a clergy or community/civic department head or leader and an essay about what your Irish heritage means to you.
  6. Must also submit a photograph for Parade Program Book.
